Kericho: Pregnant first-year university student hangs herself

The family of a first-year student in Kericho County is mourning her untimely demise after she hanged herself.

According to a police report, the deceased, Faith Charity Makhulu, is said to have hung herself using a manila rope along the corridor of their family home in Site and Service estate.

The 19-year-old was nine months pregnant at the time of her demise.

Makhulu reportedly ended her life on Friday night when all her family members were asleep. Her mother discovered her body dangling from the rooftop the following morning and made a distress call.

Neighbours rushed to the scene attempting to rescue the university student but she had already passed away.

They alerted officers from Kericho Police Station who moved the body to Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.

A suicide note left behind apparently indicated that girl hang herself after being dumped by the boyfriend.
