Kericho residents celebrate Coca-Cola’s returnable glass bottle moments

Residents of Nyagacho, Kericho County, joined in a vibrant celebration as Coca-Cola relaunched its iconic Returnable Glass Bottle campaign, bringing back the nostalgic experience of enjoying the beverage in its classic glass packaging.

The campaign, which is being rolled out across the country—including Nairobi, Eastern, Western, Nyanza, Coast, Rift Valley, and Mount Kenya regions—aims to revive the joy of sharing Coca-Cola in its original form. The initiative has seen Coca-Cola teams actively engaging communities, rekindling memories, and promoting the returnable glass bottle as a sustainable and affordable option for consumers.

In Kericho’s Nyagacho area, locals expressed their excitement about the campaign. Many residents reminisced about their childhood days when Coca-Cola in a glass bottle was a special treat.

“This reminds me of the good old days when we would gather as a family to share a glass of Coke after a long day. The taste is just different in a glass bottle,” said Alex munyasa, a resident of Nyagacho.

Priced as low as KES 20 for a 200ml bottle, the returnable glass option remains an affordable and versatile choice for all occasions—whether for students, families, or social gatherings.

For three months, Coca-Cola teams have been traveling across various counties with their caravans, inviting Kenyans to relive their cherished memories of enjoying Coca-Cola in glass bottles. The Rift Valley region has been a key focus, with teams visiting towns and villages in Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Bomet, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Narok counties.

Beyond nostalgia, the returnable glass bottle is also a sustainable choice, reducing plastic waste while maintaining the distinct taste that has made Coca-Cola a cultural icon in Kenya.

The returnable glass bottle remains a symbol of connection and joy, uniting Kenyans through shared experiences. With its refreshing taste and timeless charm, it’s more than just a drink—it’s a celebration of togetherness, one bottle at a time.
