Rapper Khaligraph Jones on why President Ruto should give KSh50 million to Sauti Sol

Kenyan rapper Brian Ouko Omollo popularly known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones now wants President William Ruto to reward music band Sauti Sol for their contribution to the country.

In a local interview, Khaligraph stated that Sauti Sol had brought immense value to Kenya as they were a global brand.

Prezzo anafaa akae atoe 50 million kitty for Sauti Sol... If I woke up na nisikie President William Ruto amesema there is 50M for Sauti sol nitafurahi kabisa,” the rapper opined.

According to him, such an award would not only inspire other musicians such as himself but also create more opportunities in the vast entertainment industry which struggles for lack of support from the government.

Earlier this year, the renowned music brand comprised of Bien-Aime Baraza, Polycarp Otieno, Willis Austin Chimano, and Savara Mudigi announced they will be taking an indefinite break as a group to focus on their solo careers.

They are all set for their last show as a group on November 2, 2023.

Their much-hyped event dubbed ‘Sol Fest’ will take place at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.

Khaligraph expressed ‘disappointment’ in the music band for charging KSh20,000 per VIP ticket, saying that is underrating their value after decades of building their name.

Sauti Sol mliniangusha sana kuweka hiyo price. Yani mnawekaje KSh20,000? , si mngeeka KSh100,000. They really pissed me off,” he opined.

The rapper, who acknowledged that Sauti Sol’s star surpassed his known, affirmed that he would not charge less than KSh50,000 per VIP ticket for his show.
