Police officers in Kabete, Kiambu County have arrested a man accused of stabbing his ex-wife and her lover.
The two escaped death narrowly but with serious injuries.
It is said that the suspect was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of assaulting his wife on several occasions. He was however released recently.
His ex-wife on the other hand reportedly moved in with her new partner months after breaking up with her husband.
The suspect is said to have ambushed them at their house on Wednesday, January 17 where he attacked them.
Police responded to distress calls from the neighbors and rushed to the scene. The two victims were rushed to P.C.E.A Kikuyu Hospital in Thogoto where they are nursing serious injuries.
The suspect was apprehended and taken to Muguga Police Station as investigations into the incident progress.
Eqyptian man stabs ex-wife 25 times
A similar was reported in Egypt on Wednesday, January 17 where a man stabbed his estranged wife fatally for allegedly refusing to get back with him.
Apparently, the man visited his wife at her mother’s house in Giza Governorate where she had been staying for a month with their children.
Local authorities revealed that when the woman strongly rejected his proposal to remarry, the man took a large knife and stabbed her 25 times as the children watched in horror.
Police officers who visited the scene upon receiving distress calls managed to arrest the man for questioning.
These cases come in the wake of a heated debate on femicide and steep rise in Gender-Based Violence cases.
DCI still searching for Rita Waeni’s head
Meanwhile, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are yet to recover missing head of a 20-year-old woman who was brutally murdered in Roysambu, Nairobi County over the weekend.
Rita Waeni’s family in a statement revealed that the suspected killer demanded KSh500,000 ransom from them on the fateful Sunday morning when her dismembered body was recovered in a dustbin.
