A man was shot dead by unknown gunmen on motorcycles in Kist area, Kiambu Township, on Thursday, August 1, according to police investigators.
The victim, believed to be around 27 years old, was found lifeless next to his motorcycle on Kist-Degro Road, with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Two spent 9mm cartridges and one live round were discovered approximately 100 meters from the body.
Eyewitnesses reported that the man was being followed by two other motorcycle riders, who fled immediately after the shooting.
Security guards near the scene corroborated this account. Police have classified the killing as an execution and moved the body to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination and identification.
Detectives are currently investigating the motive behind the attack, which occurred in broad daylight.
Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation and apprehension of the suspects.
