Detectives in Kilimani, Nairobi, have arrested a woman accused of drugging and robbing revellers in popular city clubs.
Consolata Nyangai, notorious for her alleged involvement in similar cases, was apprehended following a report by a Chadian national who fell victim to her scheme.
The man had reportedly met Consolata on November 9 during a lively night out at Gemini and Quivers clubs.
After hours of merry-making, he invited her to his residence at Spring Gardens Apartments, unaware of the events that would unfold.
According to the report filed at Kilimani Police Station, the victim woke up to an empty wallet and missing belongings.
Consolata had allegedly stolen $4,000, Ksh 10,000, a Samsung S20 phone, and a Corn C105 phone before vanishing into the night.
Acting swiftly, detectives launched a forensic-led investigation that led them to Consolata’s hideout in Hunters, Kasarani.
There, they recovered the stolen phones, which the complainant positively identified.
Additional findings at the scene included a brand-new 75-inch Samsung TV worth Ksh 107,000 and a Ramtons cooker valued at Ksh 55,000, both believed to have been purchased with the stolen money.
The investigation also unearthed two national identity cards—one Kenyan and one Ugandan—both bearing Consolata’s photograph but different names.
This raised serious concerns about her true identity, which remains under scrutiny.
Consolata is currently in custody at Kilimani Police Station and is expected to face charges in court on November 18, 2024.
Authorities are urging the public to remain cautious in social environments and to report suspicious behaviour immediately.
