Kindiki, Duale, Chirchir and Wahome make comeback as President Ruto names partial Cabinet

President William Ruto has nominated the first batch of new Cabinet Secretaries following his decision on July 11 to dismiss his entire Cabinet.

In a press briefing at State House, Nairobi on Friday, July 19, President Ruto said the 11 CS and Attorney General nominees were nominated following consultations across the political divide.

However, six CSs who were among those dismissed following weeks of youth-led anti-government protests have made a comeback.

Prof Kithure Kindiki has retained his Interior Ministry docket. Alice Wahome and Soipan Tuya have also retained their Lands and Environment and Climate Change dockets respectively.

Aden Duale will remain Defence CS if Parliament approves President Ruto’s nominees.

Davis Chirchir is now the nominee for Roads and Transport docket, While Rebecca Miano is now the designated Attorney General.

Ministry of Lands – Alice Wahome

Ministry of Education – Julius Migosi Ogamba

Ministry of Defence – Aden Duale

Ministry of Agriculture – Dr Andrew Mwihia Karanja

Ministry of Environment – Soipan Tuya

Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation – Eric Muriithi Muga

Minsitry of Roads – Davis Chirchir

Ministry of ICT – Dr Margaret Nyambura Ndungu

Attorney General – Rebecca Miano
