DP-elect Kithure Kindiki welcomes President Ruto for Mashujaa Day celebrations

Deputy President nominee Kithure Kindiki on Sunday October 20, 2024 received President William Ruto at the Kwale County Commissioner’s office ahead of the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Kindiki, who is the current Interior Cabinet Secretary, received President Ruto as he got off a Kenya Airforce chopper with First Lady Rachel Ruto for the national celebrations.

Other leaders present included Trade CS Salim Mvurya, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo and Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani.

After a brief Cabinet meeting, President Ruto made his way to the Kwale County stadium to preside over the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

This comes a few days after President Ruto nominated Kindiki to be the Deputy President of Kenya after the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua.

For instance, Senators voted in favour of five out of the 11 grounds presented as grounds for Gachagua’s removal on October 17, 2024.
