King Charles III diagnosed with cancer

Buckingham Palace in London has revealed that King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

In a report by BBC, King Charles’s cancer was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate procedure at a private London hospital.

“It was during this intervention that a separate issue of concern was noted and subsequently diagnosed as a form of cancer.” Buckingham Palace said.

The form of cancer has not yet been revealed to the public nor the details as to what stage the cancer is.

King Charles is expected to postpone public duties as he has already begun regular treatments.

He will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, including paperwork and private meetings.

The palace said that the King decided to go public about his cancer treatment as he had been a great supporter of cancer-related charities during his time as the Prince of Wales.

“In this capacity, His Majesty has often spoken publicly in support of cancer patients, their loved ones, and the wonderful health professionals who help care for them”

The Buckingham Palace report further stated that he informed both of his sons personally about his diagnosis.

The Prince of Wales William is said to be in regular contact with his father while The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry will travel to the UK to see him in the coming days.

He went public about his prostate treatment to encourage more men to get prostate checks.
