Jubilee party secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has dismissed claims that there are cracks in the Azimio la Umoja Coalition insisting that the supposed crack is meant to help the coalition strengthen its support base.
Speaking on TV47’s Ukumbi wa Siasa show, Kioni stated that individual parties in the coalition have retreated to recruit new members so that the Azimio clinches power from the ruling UDA party.
Kioni stated that Wiper party ODM and jubilee or on the hunt for new members in the counties, He further added that this idea was agreed upon by all the Azimio coalition member party heads and the core principals.
“You see Raila on a recruitment drive, Kalonzo is having meetings for the Wiper party, and Martha Karua is rallying up the NARC-Kenya party. It was agreed that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that their parties are formidable. Otherwise, what are you doing in Azimio? The parties will be united and will be speaking in one voice.”
The S.G threw jabs at the Sabina Chege Kanini Kega faction of the Jubilee party stating that those who were elected under the Jubilee party and chose to work with UDA will find it hard in 2027 when they go back to seek fresh mandate from the people.
” In the 2027 elections, people from Mt Kenya will vote for the candidate who will be endorsed by Uhuru Kenyatta,”he stated.
Speaking on the uprise of Kamwene in the Azimio Coalition Kioni indicated that Kamwene was formed to bring Mount Kenya leaders close as they felt they were under attack by the UDA side headed by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Azimio co-principals Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka were recently involved in a fresh tussle over the newly formed ‘Kamwene’ faction.
The two leaders have been battling for the 2027 Azimio presidential ticket if their political moves are anything to go by.
On Tuesday, Kalonzo Musyoka- leader Wiper Democratic Movement, opined that the Kamwene faction is a lost cause and should be done away with.
“Kamwene is a terrible individualistic political policy. It is dead on arrival. I would advise my friends to abandon it, and we should stick together,” he was quoted as saying.
The faction is led by NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Karua, alongside Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, former governors Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia) and Peter Munya (Meru), and university don Gitile Naituli.
They officially launched the group in October last year “to champion the interests of the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.”
In her response, Karua posed, “What about Kamwene scares my brother Kalonzo Musyoka that he must drag it in every conversation he has?”
