In Kisumu County, Michael Buodo, a Chief found himself on the mend.
Unfortunately, this was after a brutal attack by angry villagers over the weekend.
The incident unfolded in Nduru village, Kadibo sub-county.
Buodo valiantly attempted to put a halt to a raucous ‘disco matanga’ gathering.
Chief Michael Buodo, hailing from Kawino South location, stepped onto the scene to stop the vigil.
However, his intervention didn’t sit well with the agitated youths in attendance.
Their fury quickly turned towards Chief Buodo, and a horrifying ordeal ensued.
The assailants, driven by anger, inflicted panga cuts on him, targeting his back, head, and right leg. It was a nightmarish turn of events, to say the least.
They urgently transported Buodo to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
There, medical personnel provided him with the necessary attention and care before discharging him.
Despite his physical recovery, Chief Buodo continues to grapple with the pain inflicted upon him.
In a local interview, he revealed that he could positively identify the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
The law, however, is not taking this incident lightly. Kadibo sub-county Deputy County Commissioner George Onyango has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway.
Nonetheless, those responsible for the attack will face the full force of the law.
They are being tracked down, arrested, and ultimately charged.
The pursuit of justice is now underway, promising accountability for those who perpetrated this shocking act of violence.
