Police in Kisumu City are looking for a woman who reportedly stabbed to death another woman for allegedly having an affair with her husband.

Rosemary Achieng, popularly known as Mama Boy, found the deceased — an M-Pesa business lady nearby — speaking with her husband at his boda boda stage in Butter Toast, Nyamasaria area before stabbing her repeatedly on the chest.

After getting the report, officers from Kasagam Police Station rushed to the scene but found the stabbed lady — identified as 30-year-old Brenda Awour Magak who operated an M-Pesa shop next to Butter Toast Bodaboda shade — lying in a pool of blood.

Preliminary investigations and statements from fellow bodaboda operators nearby have revealed that the incident was triggered by allegations of infidelity.

“They allege that their fellow bodaboda operator by the name John Ayima Alias Mzee has been having love affairs with the deceased lady as his side-chick for quite sometime now,” the report filed by Michael Mboya, a bodaboda operator, at 10:56 pm Friday, February 21 reads in part.

It is reported that this love affair infuriated Ayima’s wife, who also operates an M-Pesa business in Kisumu CBD.

As a result of the several stabbing by a kitchen knife, the deceased sustained fatal wound on her left side of the chest and a cut on the mouth which was still oozing blood by the time the police arrived at the scene.

Immediately after committing the murder, the assailant fled the scene into darkness.

The body was removed to Jaramagi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
