Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki will not be President William Ruto’s running mate in 2027, this is according to Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu.
The lawmaker says that President Ruto’s administration has spelt doom to many upcoming politicians from the Mt Kenya region, Prof. Kindiki included.
“President William Ruto and his cronies have decided to annihilate any leader from Mt Kenya. He has no value for any leader in Central Kenya,” Senator Nyutu said in an interview with TV47 on Wednesday, March 19. “Prof. Kithure Kindiki will not be made William Ruto’s running mate in 2027, we will be here and you will see. Raila Amolo Odinga and his cronies will take over the position.”
The lawmaker alleged that President Ruto is a hard individual to advice, and that he cannot take no for an answer. “William Ruto does not want anybody who can think independently, he can never take ‘no’ for an answer from anybody.”
According to Nyutu, the recent purge within committees of the National Assembly was to remove strong and promising Mt Kenya Politicians from Parliamentary leadership positions.
“Even if you look at the ongoing Parliamentary purge, the casualties are from Mt Kenya. The looming purge in Cabinet, the casualties will be from Mt Kenya. William Ruto has decided that no upcoming leader from Mt Kenya region will be allowed to grow or horn his or her leadership skills. That is why Rigathi Gachagua is no longer there, Ndindi Nyoro is no longer in the position he held, that is why Mithika Linturi was fired from Cabinet.”
