German giants Bayern Munich have agreed to a three-year deal with Vincent Kompany who is set to replace Thomas Tuchel.
The Belgian who suffered relegation with Burnely was on the club’s list of potential replacements for Tuchel who will leave the Allianz Arena in the summer.
Bayern Munich were rejected by several of their proposed options for the managerial role, including Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick.
Kompany had agreed on a deal in principle earlier this week. Still, Bayern has moved closer to the finished agreement after speaking to Burnley about the agreement between clubs with Burnley on €12m fee, and contract terms already sealed.
Bayern have suffered a disappointing season, finishing outside the top two in Germany for the first time since 2011. They reached the Champions League semifinal but were edged out over two legs by Real Madrid.
Kompany won promotion to the Premier League in his first campaign at Turf Moor but finished 19th this season as Burnley were condemned to an immediate return to the Championship.
He began his management career at Belgian side Anderlecht in 2022 and after two years, he joined Burnley in the Championship.
