The highly anticipated finals of the Sakaja Super Cup second edition are set to take place this Friday afternoon at Dandora Stadium, with a grand prize of KSh3 million up for grabs.

Defending champions Githurai All Stars will face off against Kawasaki FC in what promises to be an electrifying clash.

Both teams secured their spots in the final after winning their respective semi-final matches on Wednesday. Githurai All Stars, who clinched the title in the tournament’s inaugural edition last year, are determined to retain their crown and claim the lucrative cash prize once again.

Meanwhile, Kawasaki FC are eager to dethrone the reigning champions and make their mark in the competition’s history.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, the tournament’s patron, has confirmed his attendance at the finals. “I shall be part of the spectators, ready to reward the winners. Let’s all meet at Dandora Stadium this Friday. This tournament has been a great platform, giving youths an opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to earn a living from sports,” he stated.

This year’s edition has been a resounding success, attracting over 780 teams from all 85 wards in Nairobi. The competition has provided a unique platform for grassroots teams to shine on a larger stage.

“The winners of the final will walk away with 3 million shillings, while the runners-up will receive 2 million shillings. The team finishing third will bag 1 million shillings,” the governor confirmed.

In addition to these prizes, individual accolades will also be awarded to outstanding players.

Fans are expected to throng Dandora Stadium in large numbers to witness the grand finale of this vibrant tournament.
