KUCCPS announces new payment codes

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Tuesday June 4, 2024 announced the introduction of new payment codes.

KUCCPS stated in a public notification that this occurred after the government declared that every government service will be connected to the eCitizen portal.

“For efficiency, KUCCPS services have been assigned codes for purposes of eCitizen transactions. Henceforth, stakeholders are advised to use the following payment reference codes while paying for the listed services via the platform,” read part of the notice.

According to the new changes, all local students who pay for the supply of data for research must use the code PDRL.

Local NGOs and enterprises who pay for the provision of research data must use the PNGO code.

Bidders wishing to purchase tender papers will use the PTDB code, whereas those looking to purchase career books will now need to use PCCB.

Meanwhile, universities will register for membership through RGMU, whereas colleges will use RMCL for the same function.

“To pay for services not listed above such as applications for replacement or inter-institutional transfers, follow eCitizen payment instructions as provided on the respective KUCCPS portal,” says part of the notice.

On how to pay using eCitizen with the new adjustments, KUCCPS has specified seven procedures for making a payment through eCitizen. The process runs as follows:

1. Proceed to the mobile money menu.

2. Choose the pay with mobile money option.

3. Select pay bill.

4. Enter the aggregated paybill number – 222222.

5. In place of the account number, enter the corresponding payment reference code, a hyphen, and the client’s name, all in capital letters.

6. Enter the required amount to complete the process.

7. Send the confirmation message to KUCCPS as proof of payment for service.
