It directly translates to, “The mountain has been touched” or in Swahili, ni kama Murima iliguzwa according to MP GG Kagombe.
During an exclusive interview on Power And Politics with George Maringa Gatundu South MP admitted that the mountain had been touched.

Although reluctant, Kagombe shared that the mountain region’s interests had been touched but stated that the mountain region’s interests are Kenyan interests.
“Murima is not an individual, Murima is our collective interests,” stated MP Kagombe.

He goes on “If our collective interests are not being served by the people we put in positions that are supposed to serve our Murima, then we change.”

How did they touch Murima?
“What would amount to touching Murima to me, is when you come to business, agriculture, education, milk tea coffee, and potatoes,” Kagombe stated.
“When you touch those things and their markets and you touch the purchasing power of our clients then you have touched Murima,” Kagombe highlighted.
Using direct terms, Kagombe broke down the economics of Murima politics outlining the backbone of the region revolves around agriculture.
Furthermore, he stated that there was a need to have constructive policies around the same to address Murima’s economics.

Is the Murima calm?
“I think right now there is some calm after the storm, and I think this calm is going to allow us to do business.” shared Kagombe.
Kagombe’s view comes barely a week after former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua was attacked while attending a funeral in Limuru.

Former DP Gachagua made statements regarding his seemingly shambolic relationship with the government, alleging it had sponsored attacks against him.

All eyes are now on Murima’s hot cold temperatures which MP Kagombe insists are calm and will be fully settled come February 2025 when parliament resumes.
