The MP was clearly taken aback by the sudden and heartfelt display of affection and backing from his Akamba fans, a moment that truly touched his heart.

The Kamba festival, which is a joyous celebration of the rich culture and customs of the Akamba community, united individuals from diverse areas.

The second edition of the event was graced by numerous well-known figures from the community, with content creators Nicholas Kioko and Rick Be as hosts.

Salasya was invited on stage by comedian Vincent Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy, who affectionately referred to the legislator his doppelganger.

Salasya, with his charm and strong ties to the community, was warmly greeted at the event, with fans cheering as he took the stage to address the crowd.

The enthusiastic cheers from the audience confirmed his increasing popularity extending beyond his local constituency.

At the same time, Salasya encouraged his supporters to attend in great numbers if he were to arrange a comparable gathering for the Luhya community, his own ethnic group.

“Mnajua mimi nawapenda sana…na nimesema kwa sababu tumekuja hapa, nitapanga yetu pia ya Mulembe huko Western. Mtakuja ama hamtakuja?” Salasya asked the fans.

Salasya, talking proudly about establishing himself as a brand, recently mentioned his plans to introduce fees for photos and videos with his fans.

Despite his rising prominence in Kenyan politics due to his lively character and direct engagement with the people, Salasya clarified that this decision goes beyond mere profit and holds deeper significance.

To him, it serves as a strategy to handle the high volume of requests from his fans who often seek to capture memories with him.

Through a post on his verified Instagram profile on Monday, September 2, 2024, Salasya posted a picture with three of his supporters, emphasizing his commitment by calling it part of his duties.

Additionally, he announced that from now on, it will cost Ksh100 for a photo and Ksh150 for a video with him.

The lawmaker mentioned that he takes around 50 photos daily with people and records 10 videos for his shows, explaining, “I charge 100 shillings to take a photo with you, video is 150 bob… I’m quite busy here.

In a day, I take pictures with at least 50 individuals and shoot 10 videos for my programs.”
