Lucy Wambui Jennings – a rancher in Laikipia who was ambushed and shot by unknown assailants on Sunday has died.
Jennings died on Thursday, January 25 morning at Pope Benedict XVI Hospital in Nyahururu where she was undergoing treatment.
The deceased’s brother, Njihia Mbugua, says she was admitted at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, but her health worsened Thursday morning.

On the fateful day, Wambui had left her home in Thome Location to attend a church service in Rumuruti town when she was way-laid by the assailants and shot at.
The 50-year-old rancher was shot at the back of her head and her arm and left for dead.
Her friends managed to rescue and rushed her to Rumuruti Sub County Hospital and later refereed to Pope Benedict XVI Hospital in Nyahururu where she was admitted.
