Five passengers on boda boda lost their lives, and one sustained injuries following a tragic incident in the Denyenye area along Likoni-Kombani road.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday September 15, 2024, about 1.00am in Kwale County.

According to the police report, all the deceased were passengers on the motorcycle during the time of the accident.

How the 5 Boda Boda passengers died

Police confirmed that the motorcycle carrying five passengers, rammed into the lorry from behind, leading to the devastating outcome.

Additionally, the authorities mentioned that the motorcyclist, was heading from Kombani to Likoni, and spotted the stationery truck too late during the Sunday morning incident.

According to the Coast Regional Police boss, George Sedah, bodies of the deceased were moved to Kwale hospital mortuary for identification and postmortem examination.

Survivor among the six individuals

“It appears there were six individuals on the motorcycle as one survived and was taken to the hospital,” stated Sedah.

Additionally, he advised all road users including pedestrians to remain vigilant for their safety at all times.

The survivor of the crash was thereafter taken to Diani Beach Hospital.
