A man in Las Vegas has been arrested and officially charged with the murder of the renowned rapper Tupac Shakur, who was tragically shot and killed in the city of Nevada in September 1996.

Despite being considered one of the most influential figures in hip-hop history, Tupac’s murder has remained unsolved for years, captivating both investigators and the public.

A Nevada grand jury has taken a significant step by indicting 60-year-old Duane “Keffe D” Davis on a murder charge involving the use of a deadly weapon.

During a press conference held on Friday, Kevin McMahill, the sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, acknowledged the lengthy wait for justice endured by Tupac’s family, spanning 27 years.

Sheriff McMahill emphasized that the investigation, which commenced on September 7, 1996, is still ongoing and committed to holding those responsible for Tupac Shakur’s violent death accountable.

Duane Davis is the uncle of Orlando Anderson, a known rival of Tupac, whom authorities have long suspected in the rapper’s homicide.

Anderson had been part of a casino altercation with Tupac Shakur and his associates on the night of Tupac’s tragic demise.

At the time, Anderson denied involvement in the rapper’s killing and subsequently lost his life in an unrelated gang-related shooting two years later.

Davis, a former member of the South Side Compton Crips gang, admitted in prior interviews and his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was present in the vehicle allegedly used during the attack.
