The Legio Maria Church has urged Kenyans and Christians all over the world to embrace reconciliation during Easter celebrations.
Speaking during a church service in Nairobi on Sunday March 2024, Bishop Wycliffe Nyaperah of the Legio Maria Church emphasized the need for peace and reconciliation as Christians celebrate Easter.
“Easter is about reconciliation. I am happy my country Kenya has healed from the effects of the contested 2022 elections and things are back to normal.
“A time like this last year, our nation was divided, but today our nation is with a common goal of peace and prosperity,” he stated.
Nyaperah added that other regions of the world, especially the war torn countries should heal and embrace Jesus Christ.
According to the Legio Maria Bishop, there are better ways that nations can explore to resolve conflicts.
He cited the case of Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas wars that have led to loss of lives, insisting that there is an urgent need for reconciliation among nations for peaceful coexistence.
In his Easter message, Nyaperah narrated that the world should take care of the victims of war during this Easter celebrations.
“The greatest virtue for mankind is peace. I am therefore calling upon all God-fearing nations to stop wars and embrace peace. The world is a very beautiful place to live when there’s peace,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, he advised Kenyans to end cases of domestic violence and homicides in the country.
