President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have sent out a hope-filled Christmas message to Kenyans.

In a joint message, the Head of State noted that the festivities were a time for families and communities to gather once again to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

“Christmas is our time to remind ourselves that the Lord chose a couple from a humble background as the home of our Savior to remind us that our humble limited means nothing but the starting point of better and greater things,” Mama Rachel noted.

Extend your generosity to others- Ruto

President Ruto on his part reminded Kenyans to extend their generosity to fellow country men and women in need.

“May we reach out to our brothers and our sisters in need with a loving hand, kind words, and other gifts. It is most important that we pray for them,” he added.

Mama Rachel went on to commend the nation for its resilience despite the tough times people have had to endure in 2023, particularly from increased cost of living.

The first in command preached hope to Kenyans as they look forward to a new year in the coming few days.

“Together let us look forward to a new year filled with hope, progress and shared prosperity. Season’s greetings and may the coming year bring you peace, joy and fulfillment.

“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024,” Ruto added.

Reactions to Ruto’s Christmas message

Netizens were quick to share their opinions, with some criticizing him for the tough year that ahs been.

“Just use this season to reflect about your style of leadership. Focus on delivering the promises YOU (Not anyone else) promised Kenyans. Just that,” CPA Ng’ang’a wa Mwangi wrote.

“There’s nothing to celebrate …reduce the cost of living please,” The Politician commented.

“Wishing our President and fellow citizens a joyous Christmas filled with warmth, unity, and moments of shared happiness,” Emmanuel Lemali said.
