Willy Paul seems to have officially confirmed he is now a secular artist

Gospel/secular artist Willy Paul has been the subject of backlash after he dropped his latest single 'Lamba Nyonyo' on YouTube.

The video, which was dropped on Tuesday, July 30, came at a time when fans were questioning his stance in the music industry.

The controversial singer has been blowing hot and cold, releasing both gospel and secular jams, leaving his fans in limbo.

After dropping the song, Willy Paul came under fire from fans and other artists like Ringtone Apoko who criticized him over his choice of music.

Willy Paul has however responded to the hate he has been receiving. On his Instagram page, the singer stated that he is transitioning and his decisions may not please everyone.

"I am evolving into a new phase of my life. Some of the music I make now may not fit in with your view of me, and may not resonate with you but know always that I am doing my best to be true to myself," read part of his statement.
