NAIROBI: Anti-riot police have been forced to lob teargas to disperse protesters who have barricaded a section of Moi Avenue near Kencom in Nairobi Central Business District. The protesters have blocked the road using boulders and stones, rendering it impassible for motorists.

THE US EMBASSY warns Americans: The embassy has issued a travel advisory to its citizens over planned demonstrations on Tuesday and Thursday. The Embassy says that “even protests that seem peaceful can turn violent at any moment”, urging its citizens to be cautious.
