Liverpool confirms Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp’s successor

Liverpool finally announced that Arne Slot would be the man to replace Jürgen Klopp next season. The Dutchman has signed a three-year deal after spending the last three seasons at Eredivisie club Feyenoord.

The Feyenoord boss, who will start his new role on June 1, has his work set for him as he has identified his first order of business at the Anfield stadium,

According to The Telegraph, the Dutchman has earmarked four key players in his roster whom he plans and is excited to work with.

According to the report, Darwin Nunez is one of the players that Arne Slot is excited to work with at Anfield, and he sees a big future for him at the club.

The misfiring front man has received his fair share of criticism throughout his two-year spell on Merseyside.

Although he works his socks off, his lack of end product has led to fans losing patience with the Uruguayan.

Slot had previously been approached by Tottenham, Chelsea and Leeds. He signed a new contract last May to keep him at Feyenoord until 2026 but had referenced a desire to make the next step in his career.

In a departing message to Feyenoord fans, Slot said: “It is certainly not an easy decision to close the door behind you at a club where you have experienced so many wonderful moments, and worked so successfully with so many wonderful people.

“But as a sportsman, an opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, is difficult to ignore. I am grateful to Feyenoord for their willingness to cooperate in this transition.”

Slot secured the Dutch Cup in April and led Feyenoord to their first title in six years in the 2022-23 season.
