Liverpool edge Wolves as Salah becomes Premier League’s top scorer

Liverpool took another step forward in their title challenge with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wolves at Anfield.

Goals from Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah secured all three points for the Reds, extending their lead at the top of the table to seven points ahead of Arsenal.

With the title race heating up, Liverpool’s consistency continues to give them the edge over their closest rivals.

The game started with Wolves showing resilience, pressing high and creating early chances. However, Liverpool’s attacking quality shone through in the 37th minute when Mohamed Salah calmly converted a penalty after a foul in the box.

This goal not only put Liverpool in front but also cemented Salah’s place as the Premier League’s top scorer with 22 goals, ahead of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (19 goals) and Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood (18 goals).

Despite Wolves’ late attempts to find another equalizer, Liverpool held firm, securing a crucial win in their pursuit of the title.

The victory sees Liverpool sitting at the summit of the table with 60points, seven clear of Arsenal (53), while Manchester City trails behind in fourth place with 44 points. The title race remains intense, with plenty of twists and turns still to come.

Tottenham Stun Manchester United as Struggles Continue for Amorim’s Side

Elsewhere, Tottenham secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Manchester United, thanks to a crucial goal from James Maddison.

The playmaker found the net in the second half, lifting Spurs to 12th place in the league standings. For Manchester United, the defeat further highlighted their struggles in the Premier League.

Reuben Amorim’s side has now won just two of their last five matches, leaving them outside the top four and facing mounting pressure.

With several key fixtures ahead, the Red Devils will need a drastic turnaround in form if they hope to secure a European spot for next season.

As the Premier League season progresses, the battles for the title, European qualification, and survival continue to intensify. With more crucial fixtures ahead, every point matters in what promises to be an exciting run-in to the campaign.
