LPG tanker overturns in Kericho; fire brigade called in to contain leaking gas

A tanker transporting LPG gas has overturned at Lesirwo area, Kericho County, along the Londiani-Muhoroni Road.

A report filed at Kipkelion Police Station says the self-involved accident occurred at around 7:30 am Friday, April 26 when the truck (Reg No. KCP 588/ZH2580 Mercedes Benz) lost control and overturned.

As a result of the accident, the LPG gas started leaking.

“The fire brigade from Kericho has been contacted to contain the situation. Progress report to follow,” the reports says.

Preliminary investigations say the vehicle was being driven by one Michael Mwangi, and was transporting LPG gas from Mombasa heading to Kisumu.
