Lucy Wambui Ng’ang’a, the woman who died after an alleged botched cosmetic surgery, will be laid to rest today (November 5).
The funeral ceremony of the late wife of businessman Francis Ng’ang’a is currently being held at her family farm in Red Hill Limuru, Kiambu County.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is attending the ceremony.
Lucy died on Saturday, October 26, days after undergoing a plastic surgery procedure at Body By Design Kenya.
Ng’ang’a shared the heartbreaking story of how his wife tragically fell ill after undergoing cosmetic surgery.
The ordeal, the businessman says, began when his wife returned home from the surgery feeling unwell.
The clinic, however, assured the family that her symptoms were normal and part of the healing process. They were told not to worry as she was expected to recover in time.
However, things took a turn for the worse as his wife’s condition rapidly deteriorated. Ng’ang’a described how she developed severe complications, including a perforated intestine.
“I asked them why my wife was excreting and smelling and they told me it was part of the healing process. When they noticed she was critically ill, they told her to go home, and they closed the clinic,” said Ng’ang’a.
Lucy developed was admitted at Nairobi Hospital, where she died while receiving treatment.
Following the death, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) issued an immediate closure notice for Body By Design Kenya.
