Ahmed Galal, a tourist and wildlife photographer from the United Arab Emirates set up his camera.

Hoping the lioness would take the bait, like clockwork, it worked like a charm.

Justifiably excited, Galal shared his exhilarating experience at Maasai Mara with the world.

Posting a 48-second video that has gone viral.

The lioness filmed herself booking it through a national reserve in Kenya.

It was an astonishingly intimate moment captured by the camera.

Galal couldn’t help but worry about the fate of his camera equipment.

He didn’t want to lose his camera worse still if it got damaged.

The camera still functioned after she dropped it.

Nevertheless, the lion dropped the camera. To his relief, with only a few scratches.

“I’ll admit that I was worried about getting the camera back, we managed to chase after the lioness,”

He added:

“She dropped the camera. Although it had a few scratches, the GoPro still functioned.”
