Magistrate Steven Johnson Waidhuba is at the center of a shocking legal dispute.
He was accused of forging a will to cut his 80-year-old mother, Ms. Lovisa Ayazika, out of her rightful inheritance.
The controversy revolves around a will that allegedly claims Waidhuba as the sole heir to a substantial estate left by his father.
The disputed will grants Waidhuba ownership of multiple properties, including a large 50-acre estate in Budhuuba, nine acres in Kasolo, and a cattle farm also in Budhuuba.
Additionally, it includes plots of land in Kaliro town, Luuka District, and Bukova Trading Centre.
According to the will, his father, Yokusani, bequeathed all these properties to Waidhuba and named him as the executor.
However, this will has been met with fierce opposition.
Ms. Lovisa Ayazika and her six other children took legal action, seeking to overturn the probate letters granted to Waidhuba.
They claim that the will is a forgery and that their late father actually died intestate, without a valid will.
They argue that Waidhuba should not be managing the estate due to his difficult nature and past behavior towards his siblings.
Ms. Lovisa, who is devastated by the situation, insists that the will is a fraudulent document.
“This is a forged will. My husband could never have done this,” she said tearfully.
She added that Waidhuba’s harsh treatment of his siblings throughout his life makes him an unsuitable heir.
In response, Waidhuba strongly denies the accusations.
He claims that he has always been a supportive family member and is perplexed by the allegations against him.
“I have always stood by my family, yet now they are turning against me without any clear reason,” he defended.
