He was arrested on Sunday November 3, 2024 from a hideout in Kamukunji, Nairobi.
The suspect is currently being interrogated at DCI headquarters and is expected to be presented in court on Monday November 4.
According to the DCI, the man had illegally obtained a Kenyan identification card.
Reports indicate he also served as a police officer in Ethiopia before he was arrested and jailed over murder claims.
He later fled to Kenya where he set up a base and started a taxi business in Eastleigh and Parklands.
Hashim has been linked to the murder of Amina Abdirashid, Waris Dahabo Daud, and her niece, Nusayba Abdi Mohammed in Eastleigh.
Police reported that the suspect knew the slain women and had been involved in the extortion business in Nairobi for some time.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the 34-year-old suspect was driving the Nissan Note car captured on CCTV cameras picking the victims from their Eastleigh home on October 21, 2024, hours before their bodies were discovered at different locations.
The vehicle was found abandoned at Wakulima Market and towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic examination.
