A High Court in Makueni on May 14, 2024 sentenced a 48-year-old man to 15 years in prison for defiling and impregnating his daughter.

According to court documents, the defilement incident occurred between May and June 2023 in their single room in Makueni.

During the hearing of the case, the court was told that the man committed the act while his wife was at work in Nairobi.

In addition, the girl’s pregnancy was discovered by her school principal and confirmed by a Clinical Officer at 23 weeks.

After his arrest, he told the court that he was framed by his daughter, while the minor told the court that her father defiled her.

“My father defiled me when my siblings were asleep and my mother had gone to work in Nairobi,” the minor said.

“What I have given to this court is true and I have no intention of framing my father,” she added.

The man was found guilty of the defilement charge after a thorough investigation, as the judge delivered a verdict, stating that the prosecution proved the case beyond doubt.

Consequently, the convict will serve 15 years in prison as a deterrent sentence. However, he has 14 days to appeal against the ruling.

A similar incident occurred in April 2024 in Kisii County, where a father aged 50 years defiled his 6-year-old daughter in a coffee plantation.
