Malindi MP to open six chiefs’ offices and two police stations to boost security

Malindi Member of Parliament (MP) Amina Mnyazi has embarked on a program to build six modern assistant chiefs’ offices and four police posts in her constituency to enhance security.

Already the MP completed and handed over two offices of assistant chiefs in Makobeni and Barani Sub Locations and intends to complete the other four and the police stations before the end of her term.

Speaking during the official opening of the new Barani Assistant Chief’s offices, Mnyazi said most assistant chiefs had no offices and were forced to incur costs to rent office spaces which was expensive for them.

Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi, in collaboration with NG-CDF Malindi, handing over the Barani Chief’s office, marking a significant step in enhancing our community’s security.

“I would like by the end of 2027 to build six chiefs offices and on security, I want to build four police posts in Malindi to boost enhance security for the people of Malindi,” she said.

She said plans are ready to lay the foundation of the Kijiwetanga Police Post after an Indian investor donated five acres for development purposes.

Out of the five acres, she said they will build an assistant chief’s office, police post and dispensary which the MCA will build.

The Barani Chief’s office

Mnyazi said the remaining three acres in the land donated by the investor in Kijiwetanga would be used to build a secondary school.

“At the end of this year we shall have completed three assistant chief’s offices and by next year we want to build three more,” she said.

The MP was accompanied by Malindi Town Ward MCA Rashid Odhiambo, Malindi location Senior Chief, and several assistant chiefs from the constituency within Malindi Division.

Odhiambo said some people always criticize the developments of leaders without appreciating the work done and urged them to appreciate the programs being implemented by the MP.

Wilfred Nyiro, the Senior Chief Malindi location, called on members of the public to utilize the chief’s offices so as to help spur development and improve security in the constituency.
