Malkia Strikers beat Seychelles in three straight sets at the African Games

The Kenya National women’s volleyball team Malkia Strikers demolished Seychelles in straight set in their opening fixture of the African Games in Accra, Ghana.

The Kenyan ladies recorded a 25-15 win in the first set before clinching the second one 25-8.

Seychelles showed formidable resilience in the final set, pushing the defending champions to the edge before conceding a 25-21 victory.

Meanwhile, Algeria dominated Republic of Congo in a straight-set triumph, while the hosts demonstrated their prowess with an identical scoreline against the Gambia.

On Wednesday afternoon, Malkia’s male counterparts, Wafalme, will commence their campaign against Chad at the MUH Multipurpose Hall.

Coach Elisha Aliwa’s team is making a comeback to the tournament after sitting out the previous edition in 2019 held in Rabat, Morocco.
