Police have arrested a man suspected of killing an 8-year-old boy and injuring a woman in the home of his ex-lover in Ndenderu area, Kiambu County. 

The incident occurred on January 30, 2024 when the boy was within the compound, before the suspect forcefully entered and committed the crime. 

According to police, the man managed to get into the home where he killed the boy and attempted to kill the house girl who escaped with serious injuries.

The house girl raised an alarm during a confrontation with the suspect, alerting the neighbours who came to her rescue.

As the neighbours attempted to detain him, he managed to escape and fell into a pit along the compound.

Later, police officers arrived at the scene and with the help of fire fighters, they removed him from the pit.

The man’s ex-lover, who was in the house during the incident, has recorded a statement with the police as the officers launch investigations into the matter.

However, the body of the boy was taken to Kihara Hospital Mortuary for autopsy while the injured house girl is receiving treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.

The suspect whose real name is yet to be identified is being held by the police, waiting for arraignment in court.

A similar incident took place on January 17, 2024 when a man was arrested for stabbing his ex-wife and her lover in Kabete, Kiambu County.

The woman and her lover sustained serious injuries during the incident. 

According to the police, the suspect was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of assaulting his wife on several occasions. He was however released recently.

His ex-wife on the other hand reportedly moved in with her new partner months after breaking up with her husband.

The suspect is said to have ambushed them at their house on Wednesday, January 17 where he attacked them.
