Police arrest a man carrying 7 sacks of bhang on bodaboda in Ugenya

A 26-year-old man is being detained at Sega police station after he was arrested for allegedly possessing seven sacks of bhang in Ugenya sub-county.

Jared Okoyo Abucheri, was transporting the commodity on a bodaboda when patrolling police officers intercepted him along Sega-Ugunja road.

The officers stopped the suspect and established that the luggage he was carrying were several brooms of cannabis sativa which was stuffed in the seven sacks.

Siaya County Police Commander, Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect would face charges in court for possessing a prohibited commodity.

Police in Nanyuki seize bhang worth 5 million

Elsewhere in Nanyuki, Police have arrested two suspects ferrying a consignment of bhang on Friday.

Acting on a tip from the public, the local police force intercepted a black Toyota Fielder license number KCZ 858R on January 5th which was carrying the illegal commodity.

Laikipia County Police Commander John Nyoike stated that authorities traced the consignment from Tanzania to Meru town.

“We found the vehicle to be carrying 50 bags of a suspicious green substance, believed to be a narcotics substance,” he said.

Nyoike issued a warning to individuals engaged in illegal activities, declaring that authorities would swiftly bring their days to an end.

He declared that authorities were on high alert to arrest such cartels.

Nevertheless, he expressed gratitude to the public for voluntarily providing credible information that resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of the bhang consignment.
