Police in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, have arrested a man accused of defiling his 14-year-old daughter.
It is alleged that the 45-year-old man from Andingo village has been defiling the grade five pupil repeatedly.
Confirming the arrest, the area chief, Samson Owili, says having separated from his wife, the suspect has been taking advantage to defile the girl in his bed at night.
Owili says that the minor has been running away from home to avoid the ordeal meted on her by her own father.
On Monday, March 18, however, her teachers enquired to know why she was a notorious absentee in school. That is when she narrated to them what she has been facing.
The children service department took her to hospital where she will be examined to ascertain the claims before the man is arraigned.
