A Ugandan man has been arrested in Naivasha, after confessing to a motorist that he stabbed his wife to death after she allegedly cooked omena instead of meat for supper.
This was after the suspect on Monday at around 10 pm flagged a motorist, who was driving along the Gilgil-Naivasha road, and requested a lift to Nairobi.
During their one on one conversation, he confessed to the motorist to having killed his wife over a domestic dispute at their home in a village near the Kenya – Uganda border.
The suspect also disclosed to the motorist that he was escaping arrest after committing the crime.
Consequently, the motorist decided to drive towards Naivasha police station where he handed him over to the police.
He was arrested as police launched investigations into the matter, pending transfer to Uganda.
Meanwhile, Police confirmed that they have contacted Ugandan authorities for a smooth handover of the suspect to be arraigned in court.
The motive for his confession is yet to be known but police are still interrogating the suspect.
According to the police report, the suspect on March 14, 2025 in Bukitongo B village, Namisindwa District attacked and killed his wife before escaping to Kenya.
