Man beaten to death and set on fire in Machakos

A man was beaten to death and his body set on fire by locals in Kamuu village, Yatta, Machakos County on Wednesday September 25, 2024 in the morning.

The locals accused him of repeatedly stealing metallic fencing posts and selling them as scrap metal. He was reportedly caught in the act, prompting the angry mob to attack him.

In another case, a middle-aged woman was found dead in her home following a suspected domestic altercation with her boyfriend in Huruma, Nairobi County.

The victim, identified as Eliza Kamba, had been missing since Saturday, September 21. Her body was discovered on Monday, September 23, according to police reports.

Kamba’s absence from work for two days prompted concern from her colleagues and relatives, who then decided to check on her. Upon arriving at her residence, they found the door locked from the inside.

With the help of neighbors, the police forced entry into the home and found her lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, partially unclothed.

The police revealed that Kamba had suffered five stab wounds—three on her left hand, one on her neck, and another on her shoulder. Authorities are searching for her missing boyfriend, as the prime suspect.

A kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the scene. The body has been transferred to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigation.
