A 45-year-old man in Lomut area of Sigor, West Pokot County, has been arrested after allegedly defiling his two daughters aged six and nine.
The man is accused of defiling his daughters early this week when his wife left to visit her relatives in Sigor area.
Reports say that after defiling the two daughters, he tried to to sexually assault his eldest daughter.
Fortunately, the 18-year-old mother of three overpowered her father and fled the house.
Suspect confesses
Officers from Marich Police Station responded to the distress calls and arrested the suspect. Police say that he confessed to them that he had indeed defiled his daughters.
TV47’s Andrew Juma visited the home and interacted with the wife of the suspect. The wife confided in him that he has a habit of assaulting women.
In one instance, the woman says that her husband injured her with a panga, while threatening to kill her if he discloses this to their neighbours.
The victims and the woman have since been taken to Jitokeze Children’s Home in Kapenguria town as the matter is resolved.
He will be arraigned on Monday, January 22.
