Man killed over Infinix phone

Police in Nairobi have launched investigations after a man was robbed off his smartphone before he was killed in  Huruma Estate.

The victim identified as Tobias Oyo was robbed off his phone before he was murdered in a 5am incident on Thursday March 7, 2024.

Curious onlookers reported that the deceased had Ksh2,300 in his pockets, adding that the attackers were not interested with money.

Oyo was attacked as he going to work in the morning.

According to eyewitnesses, Oyo was seriously injured during the incident as he later succumbed to injuries.

His body had stab wounds on the head and chest.

According to CCTV footage the gang later escaped through Mathere river after committing the crime.

Several similar attacks have been reported in the area as the gang terrorized residents and escaped with valuables.

Police have launched investigations into the matter but so far nobody has been arrested in relation to the incident.

Meanwhile, police officers removed the body from the crime to city mortuary for autopsy.

The family of the deceased is now calling on the government to intervene and ensure justice prevails.

However, police urged family of the deceased and area residents to remain calm as officers continue with investigations.

The officers also advised members of the public to be vigilant and report suspected criminals to the authorities.
