Trip gone sour
They went on a tour to view the mesmerizing beauty of the Gicheru Falls.
Their excitement was palpable, and they decided to commemorate the moment with a photograph.
Little did they know that this attempt at capturing a cherished memory would lead to tragedy.
As they stood by the falls, the couple, lost in their romantic moment, attempted to take a selfie while their friends watched from a distance.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck in the blink of an eye as the man lost his footing and plunged into the waterfall’s powerful currents, being swept away in an instant.
Eyewitness account
Ephantus Bundi, an eyewitness to the harrowing incident, recounted the tragic moment.
The group’s joyous outing turned into a nightmare in mere seconds.
Confirming the heart-wrenching incident, Gichugu Sub-County Police Commander Edward Ndirangu shared more details.
Additionally, among the eight people who had embarked on this visit, six hailed from Nairobi.

Unfortunately, their adventure took a dreadful turn, leading to a frantic search for the missing 26-year-old man.
