Man stabs his lover to death in front of their 7-year-old daughter in Kitengela

A woman identified as, Lucy Wambui Mathenge, from Kitengela, Kajiado County was brutally attacked and killed by her lover of seven years.

Police reported that David Njoroge, killed his lover, Wambui during a heated argument in their rental home in Kitengela.

The incident, which occurred on Monday September 30, 2024 in the evening has shocked the local community, leaving many in disbelief over the violent turn of events in what appeared to be a stable long-term relationship.

A Fatal Disagreement

According to reports from neighbors, the couple had been involved in an intense disagreement, the cause of which is still unclear.

Shouting could be heard from their home, signaling the escalation of the conflict.

The quarrel turned deadly when Njoroge allegedly grabbed a knife and attacked Wambui, stabbing her severally before their 7-year-old daughter.

Neighbors quickly responded to the commotion, rushing into their house and found Wambui critically injured.

The neighbors immediately attempted to rush her to a nearby health facility in hopes of saving her life.

Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain.

Cause of Death

Lucy Wambui was rushed to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital, where medical staff worked tirelessly to stabilize her condition.

However, despite their best efforts, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

According to pathologist Peter Ndegwa, the primary cause of death was severe internal bleeding due to multiple stab wounds.

“We’ve done an autopsy and the late lucy was stabbed twice.

One stab is the one that was fatal as it penetrated through the left breast injuring internal organs, including the heart , and the deceased lost a lot of blood.

She could not be saved because of the severity of the attack, which was fatal,” Ndegwa said.

Investigations Underway

The culprit fled, despite efforts by the neighbors to apprehend him.

Patrick Manyasi, the head of the Isinya sub-county police, pointed out that investigations and a search for the suspect were already under way.
