Man U ditches Ruud Van Nistelrooy to pave way for Amorin

Man United interim coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy has exited the club after the club made it clear his services are no longer required, ahead of Amorin’s arrival at the club.

“Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.” read part of the official statement by United.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy took over United Watch after Eric Ten Hag was fired. He restored some pride for the team, winning three of his four matches as coach.

Rueben Amorin arrived at Old Trafford on Monday November 11, 2024 alongside his coaching staff from Sporting as they look to start their tenure at United facing Ipswich on November 24th.

Amorin’s UCL victory at sporting Lisbon against Manchester City came as a good gesture, as the Dutchman is expected to make strides with the new-look United coaching staff.

Amorin is the 6th permanent coach by United since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.

Man United legend and Ruud’s teammate Rio Ferdinand claims the team should have kept Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

“His audition couldn’t have gone any better, and I think, knowing him, there was a steely determination underneath that said, ‘I’m going to put myself in the best position, either to stay at the club in some capacity or someone else is going to say we need you as a manager,” said the former United defender.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy expressed his intentions to stay at United after the team saw a glare of hope in the few weeks he’s been in charge. United are four points short of the top four despite currently sitting at 13 in the English Premier League standings.
