Man United Women come from behind to beat Aston Villa 1-2

Manchester United women have had a wonderful matchday in the women’s Super league defeating 10 man Aston Villa 1-2 at the Villa park.

United Came from behind in the 79th minute to carry the day.

Scottish, Aston Villa winger Kirsty Hanson was sent off after receiving a straight red card for a high tackle on Midfielder Hayley Ladd in the second half .

Racheal Daley opened the score sheet for Aston Villa in the 76th minute to put the hosts in the lead.

The celebration lasted only for a few minutes as Lucía García’s strike three minutes cancelled villa lead and leveled matter as the match became more entertaining.

It appeared as if Aston Villa was on track to share spoils with United until Rachel Williams headed in Nikita Parris’s cross during injury time.

Aston Villa lost at home to Manchester United women in April this year , and this loss was just adding salt to an already sore wound.

Despite the loss, Villa demonstrated their potential to challenge the WSL’s traditional top four this season, while United effectively utilized their squad and secured the victory.

Alisha Lehmann had a shot go over the bar before halftime, and Villa’s striker Daly came close to scoring early in the second half, hitting the crossbar with one of their best opportunities.

Brazilian forward Geyse, United’s summer acquisition from Barcelona, stood out as a key performer, utilizing her speed to create problems and forcing a save from debutant Daphne van Domselaar early in the match.

Later, Nikita Parris tested the Dutch goalkeeper’s reflexes with a powerful shot.

Overall, it was an immensely entertaining match at Villa Park, witnessed by a record-breaking WSL crowd of 12,533 fans.
