Defending champions Manchester City have dislodged Arsenal from third place on the Premier League table following a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium.
City who are fresh from winning their first-ever Club World Cup, their fifth trophy in 2023 have moved to within two points of leaders Liverpool midway through the season.
Defensive midfielder Rodri gave the hosts the lead in the 14th minute with a low drive from the edge of the box before 2022 World Cup winner Julian Alvarez doubled the lead in the 61st minute.

Manchester City are third on the log with 40 points from 19 games, the same tally as fourth-placed Arsenal but with a better goal difference. Liverpool and Aston Villa are first and second respectively with 42 points.
