Thanks to Rodri’s late rocket, Manchester City went to the summit of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United.

The defensive form of Sheffield United made it tough for City to penetrate the space throughout the first half.
Wes Foderingham made a terrific close-range stop as Haaland shovelled the ball toward Julian Alvarez after backing into his defender. The decisive moment of the first 45 minutes occurred shortly after when City was given a penalty.
Jayden Bogle’s goal in the 85th minute appeared to have given the Blades their first point of the year, but Rodri’s left-footed goal in the 89th minute gave the reigning champions the victory in a thrilling match at Bramall Lane that had Erling Haaland in the spotlight.
Before ultimately connecting with Jack Grealish’s left-wing cross midway through the second half to give City the lead, Haaland had struck the post from the penalty spot in the first half, one of three significant opportunities he failed to take advantage of. However, the true drama was yet to unfold.
City, though, quickly won it by going up the opposite end. The way Sheffield United was defeated—a third straight loss—was terrible. Manchester City was also supported by the away crowd. As the only team with a perfect record, they go up to the top.
