Manchester United coach dreams of winning Premier League

Manchester United is enduring what some of their fans describe as a nightmare season, but head coach Erik ten Hag is not writing them off just yet.

Ten Hag is confident his team will fight for honours this season despite only remaining in two competitions – the Premier League and the FA Cup.

“We still have the Premier League, so we have two trophies to play for. We will play for the Premier League and for the FA Cup,” Ten Hag said.

Manchester United have been inconsistent, suffering shocking losses against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, yet securing victories against Aston Villa and Chelsea.

The Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League after finishing bottom of their group, behind Bayern Munich, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

They were also eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United, the same cup they won last season by beating Newcastle in the final at Wembley.

To add to their misery, they are languishing in eighth position on the Premier League table with 31 points – 14 points off the top spot after 20 rounds.

Manchester United book FA Cup fourth round slot with win at Wigan

Manchester United clinched a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round, securing a spot in the fourth round.

Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes scored in each half, with Dalot finding the net in the 22nd minute and Fernandes converting a penalty in the 74th minute after being fouled by Liam Shaw.
