Manchester United drop points again after 1-3 beating

SportsWORLD

Manchester United witnessed their impressive 31-game unbeaten streak at home come to an abrupt halt this Saturday as they suffered a resounding 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton, compounding the array of challenges currently plaguing Old Trafford.

Danny Welbeck, known for his knack for haunting the Red Devils, struck once again, breaking the deadlock just 20 minutes into the game.

This came despite United’s initial dominance, attributed in part to their new formation under the guidance of manager Erik ten Hag.

Pascal Gross, another player who has frequently troubled United in the past, doubled Brighton’s lead in the second half.

The Seagulls further solidified their victory with a magnificent third goal, courtesy of substitute Joao Pedro, before Hannibal Mejbri scored a remarkable late consolation goal for United.

The Red Devils had been determined to bounce back from their previous bruising 3-1 defeat to Arsenal two weeks ago. However, numerous off-field issues had cast a shadow over Old Trafford.

Fans boo Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Manchester United has seen remarkable improvements in results and a newfound unity within the previously fractured dressing room.

Fans have overwhelmingly supported his decisions, but a notable exception was the substitution of Rasmus Hojlund for Anthony Martial.

Boos reverberated across Old Trafford as the Danish wonderkid made way for the struggling Martial.

Additionally, Casemiro’s substitution for youngster Hannibal Mejbri raised eyebrows, as he appeared fatigued after playing 180 minutes for Brazil during the international break.

Danny Welbeck continues to haunt Manchester United

Danny Welbeck continues to haunt his former club, scoring his fifth goal against them since leaving Old Trafford in 2014.

The Mancunian striker’s latest strike came too easily, starting the move in midfield, and eventually scoring a tap-in from Simon Adingra’s cross.

This deja vu moment echoed United’s recent trend of conceding early goals at home, although this time, they were fortunate not to be trailing by two goals.
